Client benefits explanation:
All client/patient groups in which the doctor has made a visit to their farm/residence and have received an initial examination are considered clients/patients of the practice fulfilling the legal requirements of a valid Veterinary-Patient-Client relationship.
Being a client in good standing has several benefits:
- Scheduling preference: All non-emergency calls are made by appointment. In the event that creative scheduling or work-in appointments are necessary, preference is given to established clients. Non-clients will be worked in as time becomes available.
- Internal Credit Account: Credit Accounts are available for clients. (See “Credit Policy”)
- Phone consultations: Phone consultations will NOT be provided for non-clients.
- Reasons for this include:
- State law prohibits medical recommendations without a valid Veterinary-Patient-Client relationship. Registration as a client is how Mobile Veterinary Services establishes such a relationship.
- The best advice cannot be given without a thorough knowledge of the patient, the environment in which the patient lives, and other various factors that are impossible to know without an established relationship.
- Client status assures that a legal Veterinary-Patient-Client has been established and that adequate knowledge is available to assure good advice can be given. Because of this, it is possible for recommendations and/or prescriptions to be made over the phone after a brief consultation. This may be very helpful to those in which minor problems can be handled without having to schedule a call to their farm/residence. If needed, after consultation most prescriptions can either be picked-up or mailed (see below).
- Reasons for this include:
- Prescription medication ordering: Clients have the opportunity to order bulk medication, supplies, and other animal health products from Mobile Veterinary Services. For small orders please use our new webstore.
For Clients with established credit accounts (or those willing to prepay for bulk orders) we can have orders placed and shipped directly to their farm/residence.Large orders (bulk medications, vaccine orders, etc.) may be placed through Mobile Veterinary Services, which will in turn place orders with the distributor. This can be done very effectively via:- Email – contact@mobilevetservices.net
- Fax – 205-390-3423 (do not use an extension)
- Phone – 205-390-3423 ext.6
Once an order is placed, notification of placement (usually in the same matter in which the order was place) will be given to the client as to when to expect delivery.
5.) After Hours Services: After hours services are available only for true emergencies. Clients in good standing will be given preference in providing after-hours services. Mobile Veterinary Services is aware that animals do not just get sick during weekday business hours, but neither can one person be available at all times. During times when services are not available other resource options and their contact information will be made available.
If you are not currently a client, but would like to become one, you may register at any time by completing the “Client Information Form” and scheduling an initial client establishment appointment. You may fill out the hard copy form or complete an online copy.
